After reading the specs
Posted 8 October 2006 in foafDoes anybody remember me talking about how cool I thought FOAF was? I read the spec more closely and realized that the specification seems fundamentally broken in ways that I won't discuss here. The basic impression I got was that the specification had become too broad and generic to be manageable, while failing to address any current problems with finality.
The result is that I won't be pursuing FOAF. I do hope the project gets its affairs in order, but right now - at least from the documentation I was reading - it's far from stable, let alone useful.
