Hey there! This article was written in 2004.

It might not have aged well for any number of reasons, so keep that in mind when reading (or clicking outgoing links!).

So that's it, I guess.

Klondike is the type of solitaire that most people are familiar with. It's been shipped with every version of Microsoft Windows since version 3.1 as far as I can tell. In fact, it is precisely because Microsoft called their software "Solitaire" rather than "Klondike" that people don't realize that there are many, many solitaire variants. To add to the confusion, Microsoft released "Freecell", which made people think that freecell is one game, and solitaire is another. Actually, freecell is just another type of solitaire.

I bring this up because I just completed game number 1,001 in klondike. Of those games, I won 466 times. This confirms to me that the next time I visit Vegas, I will have to bet against myself in a gambling man's game of klondike.
