I am getting really tired of Yahoo! trying to block everyone who's not using their official chat client. They seem to forget that their proprietary chat protocol is subject to the network effect. Thus, forcefully kicking users off of their network makes them more and more irrelevant. After their third attempt, I quietly removed all of my Yahoo! buddies who use other protocols besides Yahoo!'s. I can now count the number of exclusively-Yahoo! users on my buddy list on one finger. However, I will not move from Yahoo! until that one friend and I can chat on some other protocol cough-Jabber-cough.
