Pumpkin bread

As I forever worry that the following recipe will disappear from my email inbox (though it has survived since April 2006), it's time to copy it to another medium.

Here's how you make pumpkin bread:


  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Grease and flour 9x5 inch loaf pan
  • Mix pumpkin, oil, sugar, and eggs in one bowl
  • In different bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves
  • Add spice mixture to pumpkin mixture and blend
  • Pour into loaf pan and bake 45 min to 1 hr
