Hey there! This article was written in 2007.

It might not have aged well for any number of reasons, so keep that in mind when reading (or clicking outgoing links!).

Spanish Vocabulary Helper 0.1

Posted 16 May 2007 in language, memorization, memory, software, spanish, and vocabulary

I think I'm going to write some software to help me learn and remember the Spanish vocabulary that I should know. I have two chapters's worth of vocabulary that I have to have memorized and accessible by tomorrow afternoon, and the first chapter is easily 100 words. With software, I could implement some interesting things, such as the automatic generation of review and quiz sheets.

The situation harkens back to my middle school and high school years. I used to spend hours at a time writing software to do my homework for me. It may have been written in QBasic, but at the end of the day my software could do long division of integer polynomials! Those were the days, but thank goodness I've graduated from QBasic and moved on to Python.

Speaking of which, I should dig up those old programs (if'n I still have them backed up anywhere) and see if I can get back the original source code.

Cough Anyway, I should get back to studying this Spanish vocabulary. I'll write software another day.
