So Frederick informed me that he acquired a song I've been looking for for the past 5 years. It was used as the central highlight of The WB's commercials and ads at the turn of the millennium. Specifically, I remember a commercial that included almost - if not all - of The WB's young adult-oriented series.
The characters were all dressed in formal attire in a bar-like environment; the camera panned to one character who had just slid down a ladder, and then Katie Holmes (of "Dawson's Creek") was shown smiling at someone. The camera then lifted up through the ceiling to reveal a slightly crazier party going on on the floor above; one guy had some seltzer water he was spraying around, and everyone was dancing and grooving to the music.
At this point, the music reached a crescendo and abruptly faded out as the screen goes black. The WB logo appeared in white as a strong, pleasing piano chord concluded the commercial.
Well I've got the song, now! It's "Oh What a Night!" as performed by "Vitamin C". Dave happened to be here when I first played the song, and within the first 30 seconds he turned to me and informed me that he wanted the song.
Dave: "I want this song. If I could, I would marry it. I want to have its ringtones."
Good stuff! Now if I could just acquire a DVD of the Coca-Cola summer event: "Young Americans". This one girl on the show had one blue eye, and one green eye. Exotic!
UPDATE No way! Dave hunted down the exact TV spot I remember seeing, as well as the full-length uncut version! Thanks, Dave!
