lessons learned in production

Hey there! This article was written in 2006.

It might not have aged well for any number of reasons, so keep that in mind when reading (or clicking outgoing links!).

All my software projects

Back when I first started coding a few small software projects, I tried using SourceForge to host the software. That little experiment failed, however. I then attempted to use my blog (inappropriately) to handle my project management, but this too failed.

I eventually realized I was looking for essentially two different things: documentation and bug reporting software. The obvious solution to the documentation software need is a wiki.

I searched around, and lit upon Dokuwiki. It's already set up, and I'm in the middle of populating the wiki with documentation and download links, so expect to see my software projects surface again on the site.

To my friends who know about these things and have likely dealt with it themselves: I'm interested in Trac, but for various reasons I don't think it will fit my needs in the near future.
