Hey there! This article was written in 2006.

It might not have aged well for any number of reasons, so keep that in mind when reading (or clicking outgoing links!).

Five words

Posted 17 April 2006

While doing my daily reading, I hit some notably intelligent essays and discovered five words that I don't believe I've seen before (although I think the second is indeed a word I've used in the past). Here they are, including the definitions as they were used in the essays.

One who can always be counted on to repeat the party line with great gusto.

To make smooth or glossy by or as if by rubbing; polish.

The immediate and involuntary repetition of words or phrases just spoken by others, often a symptom of autism or some types of schizophrenia.

The branch of theology that is concerned with the end of the world or of humankind.

Of or relating to semantics.
