lessons learned in production

Hey there! This article was written in 2005.

It might not have aged well for any number of reasons, so keep that in mind when reading (or clicking outgoing links!).

Tozia FM77

Posted 21 October 2005

I was in Walgreens yesterday, and found an FM radio on the cheap. It has a unique design over other radios - there's no tuner! It literally has two buttons for the radio: "Scan" and "Reset". There's no display, so I can't tell what station I'm on, and if I lose reception for even a moment it scans forward to the next station.

The thing has a compass built into it, as well as a mini laser light thing. The majority of the design is actually a spring hook, so I can attach it to my belt. I'd say it's only as large as it is because of the spring hook, and because the volume knob is so large. Nonetheless, no matter which direction I turn the thing in my hand, it's never any larger than my palm. It was on sale for $0.99, too, so I can't go wrong.

Batteries included!

Unfortunately, for as cool as this radio is, I haven't been able to locate the manufacturer or product online. Therefore, I'll just write down some pertinent information, and maybe get some hits from Google. I'll post a photo sometime.
