lessons learned in production

Hey there! This article was written in 2005.

It might not have aged well for any number of reasons, so keep that in mind when reading (or clicking outgoing links!).

Upbeat yet beat-up

THE HAPPY

My brother's going to be coming to visit me at some point or another! He got accepted into an all-expenses-paid (wait, make that: ALL-expenses-paid) orchestra in Washington, D.C. He'll be going there for a month, and then stopping by Chi-town for a little Chi-potle business. As far as I remember, the orchestra will consist of 50 people from every state, and...wait, 50 people? Aren't there only 50 states? So hold on. That would mean that he represents an entire state?

Yes. Yes it would.

My parents are going to be coming to visit me at some point or another! I think it will be separate from Frederick's visit, but I'm still pretty excited about it. And yes, I'm aware I should find out when. That phone call will be happening tonight.

One of my good friends is going to be changing planes at O'Hare in August, and there will be a short one-hour window in which I could see her! That's pretty exciting. I'm hoping that it will work out for us to meet up for the short while she'll be around.

Also, I talked with my best friend on the phone tonight. It made me happy.

THE UNHAPPY

I really dropped the ball at work this week. I absent-mindedly left some confidential information on a table, and the information got leaked. I got confronted about it, but unfortunately, my numerous apologies somehow feel insufficient.

Also, I talked with my best friend on the phone tonight. It made me unhappy.
