I walked down to Health Services today, cleaned out the dusty guts of one of the computers, popped in an approximately 82 MiB Gentoo install CD, booted up the machine, spent a few minutes getting the box on the network and starting SSH, and then I left. Now, in the comfort of my dorm room, I've been installing Gentoo from stage 1 from all the way across campus. And I'm doing it all over an encrypted connection. Man, I feel good. Hey, I even interrupted myself to eat some 'zza and watch Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Amazing.
"And if you act now, I'll install Linux from across the country, direct to your box, for the low, low price of FREE!"
